Long peace, much joy - 2023/12/22 Winter Solstice record

On the winter solstice, the days are the shortest and the thoughts are the longest.

Whether it's enjoying a bowl of round and plump glutinous rice balls or gathering around to feast on a steaming plate of dumplings, both reflect the anticipation for a blissful life. Christmas, also known as the Nativity of Jesus, is a holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ in Christianity. Beyond church settings, Christmas has evolved into a cultural festival.

When it comes to Christmas, the first thing that comes to mind is the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The origin of the Christmas tree can be traced back several hundred years. It is said to have first appeared in Germany, and around 1830, the tradition of decorating Christmas trees was brought to the eastern coastal regions of the United States by German immigrants. Since then, the Christmas tree has become an indispensable decoration for people during Christmas. On December 22nd, the day of the winter solstice and the eve of Christmas, this day filled with warmth and blessings, we also decorated our Christmas tree early.

Many Christmas customs today stem from this legend in the Bible. According to the belief that Jesus was born at night, Christmas celebrations begin on the evening of December 24th, reaching their peak at midnight, which is then referred to as Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve is a night of revelry. People often celebrate throughout the night, some gathering in pubs, dance halls, and clubs to revel, while others enjoy a sumptuous dinner with their families, followed by gathering around a roaring fireplace, playing music, and singing.

The winners of the "Blue Whale Award" in the third quarter, congratulations to the four outstanding friends!

As the seasons change, though the beautiful times have passed, memories will not fade. In the years to come, may you and I have more opportunities to gather together, holding a cup of tea, reminiscing about the past like wisps of smoke.
